This feature allows affiliates to request, test, and review products for free from a wide array of Shopee sellers to promote their shops and products.
Selected affiliates can simply request a free sample via the Affiliate Portal. Sellers will review the request and, once approved, will ship the product.
Once the sample is received, affiliates can test it out and post a review about the sample.
The posted content is then submitted to sellers in the form of a screenshot or URL link so they can see what content has been posted about them.
Free Sample Request Stages
All Free Sample requests have four stages. The actions required in each stage are summarised in the table below.

Free Sample Request and Approval
Free Samples are only available to selected users at this time.
Selected affiliates will see a “Request Sample” button at the bottom of each Affiliate product detail page.
Use “Request Sample” to begin the free sample process.
Select your delivery address and desired product model/variation to be delivered.
Agree to the terms of service for using the Free Sample function before submitting the request to the seller.
Once a request has been submitted, the “Free Sample” page will become available. This page is accessible via the homepage and contains all ongoing or completed free sample requests.
Free sample requests are sorted by the current status of each request. Use the tabs to filter for different requests.
Information about the current status and items requested for each request. Click “Contact Seller” to start a chat with the seller if you need further clarification.
Tap the request card to reveal more details such as next steps, delivery information and seller/product information.
Free Sample Shipment and Receipt
Once the seller has shipped the sample, request status is updated to “To Receive”.

If samples are not received within 14 calendar days from the sellers’ shipment date, the request will be automatically cancelled.
Track the shipment using the Shipping Tracking information.
Once received, click “Confirm Receipt” to mark the sample as successfully delivered.
All free sample requests require participating affiliates to post content about the free sample on their social media.
Provide the seller with proof of posting by clicking “Submit Link” to complete the free sample request.
If post links are not submitted by the aligned posting deadline, the request will be marked as unfulfilled.
Failure to provide proof of posting may result in revoked access to the feature or other penalties at the discretion of Shopee.
In the “Submit Link” page, select the type of post/content to be submitted to the seller as proof of execution.
For non-story posts (e.g: Facebook post, Instagram reel), you must submit its URL link.
For story posts (e.g: Facebook or Instagram stry), you must upload a screenshot of it.
Use “Add Link” to submit up to 3 posts to the seller.
View submitted links & images on the summary page once completed.
Requests may be cancelled during the “To Approve”, “To Receive”, and “To Publish” stages.
Use “Cancel Request” to begin the cancellation.
Select a cancellation reason or input a reason using “Others”.
Cancellation requests require approval from the seller.
