1. What Travel Insurance/Takaful is offered on Shopee?

Allianz Travel Insurance provides compensation to eligible insured persons travelling abroad or locally, for business or leisure. This compensation covers:
Zurich Travel Takaful
Zurich Travel Takaful provides compensation to eligible covered persons travelling abroad or locally, for business or leisure. This compensation covers, among others:
Injuries, disability or death due to accident;
Medical expenses as a result of (i) accident; or (ii) illness (for international);
Expenses incurred due to incidents covered under the travel inconvenience benefits under the certificate; and
24/7 travel assistance
Additionally, for International Plans, those who are interested may subscribe to an annual plan which provides coverage for all eligible trips under a 12 month period.

3. Where am I covered?
Allianz Travel Insurance
Allianz Travel Insurance commences when you depart from your home or place of business in Malaysia to your intended destination(s). This is considered as the ‘journey’. Please ensure that your journey doesn’t start more than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time as only this time frame is covered.
The travel insurance coverage ceases when one of the following takes place:
(i) Upon arrival at your final destination in Malaysia;
(ii) On the expiry of the Period of Insurance specified in the policy (whichever is earlier); or
(iii) Not more than twenty-four (24) hours after your arrival at the intended final destination in Malaysia. This is especially in the event that the journey back to the intended final destination begins or continues after the immediate expiry of the Period of Insurance.
Zurich Travel Takaful
For domestic (Malaysia) trips:
Zurich Travel Takaful coverage period shall begin at the time you leave your home or place of business in Malaysia for leisure or business. This is considered as the ‘journey’. Your destination of travel must be at least fifty (50) kilometers beyond from your home; and excludes any daily commute to and from your place of employment or work.
The travel takaful coverage ends when one of the following takes place:
(i) Upon your return to your home or place of business in Malaysia; or
(ii) On the expiry of the period of coverage specified in your certificate of takaful,
whichever is earlier.
For overseas trips:
Zurich Travel Takaful coverage period shall begin at the time you leave your home or place of business in Malaysia to your intended destination(s).
The travel takaful coverage ends when one of the following takes place:
(i) Upon your return to your home or place of business in Malaysia; or
(ii) On the expiry of the period of coverage specified in your certificate of takaful,
whichever is earlier.
4. Can I cancel my purchase/subscription?

Yes, you may cancel your purchase at any time by contacting Shopee Customer Service via the channels below, provided that you fulfil the following criteria:

Zurich Travel Takaful
For Single Trip Plan:
You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting Shopee Customer Service via the channels below, provided that you fulfil the following criteria:
The cancellation request is at least 1 day before the travel takaful commences; and
You have not made a claim on the certificate
For Annual Trip Plan:
If your certificate has not yet come into force at the date of cancellation request, you will receive a full refund following the cancellation request channels and conditions for single trip plan.
If your certificate is already in force on date of cancellation (and no claims have been made), the following charges will apply to the contribution refund:

5. Does the policy/certificate cover COVID-19?
Allianz Travel Insurance
Yes, Allianz Travel Insurance provides protection against COVID-19 for the following coverage and it’s only applicable to fully vaccinated travellers.

Zurich Travel Takaful
Yes, Zurich Travel Takaful provides protection against illness such as COVID-19 which require treatment from a physician. Please refer to the certificate wording for the terms and conditions.
6. Does the policy/certificate cover medical expenses for COVID-19 only?
No, it doesn’t only cover medical expenses for COVID-19 but offers a wide range of coverage, including personal accident, related medical expenses and travel inconvenience benefits, subject to policy/certificate terms and conditions.
For Allianz Travel Insurance, the COVID-19 diagnosis must be certified by a medical practitioner and supported with a copy of a medical report or lab report indicating a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19.
