Starting 4 August 2025, Shopee is introducing a return quota system for all buyers for "I want to return item in original/ sealed condition" return reasons to foster responsible return behaviour and fair usage of returns amongst buyers. 

You will need to pay for the Return Shipping Fee (RSF) should you exceed your return quota under this return reason, “I want to return item in original/sealed condition”.

1. How does this quota system work? 

• Platinum buyers will be entitled to raise up to three (3), and non-Platinum buyers up to two (2), “I want to return item in original/sealed condition” (RIOC) requests per month without paying the Return Shipping Fee (RSF).
  
  

• Once the quota is exceeded, you will be charged the return shipping fee (RSF) for any additional “I want to return item in original/sealed condition” returns. 
  
  

• Shopee offers various return shipping options. You will see the amount that you will be charged when choosing your return shipping options.

⚠️ Note

• Buyers are encouraged to select the correct return reason to avoid refund delays.

• Pending return requests count toward the quota, but if a request is unsuccessful, the quota will be credited back.
  
  

2. How will I be charged for this return shipping fee(RSF)? 

Return Shipping Fee (RSF) will be deducted from the final refund amount once you have successfully shipped the return parcel and the refund request is approved.

⚠️ Note

• If the total refund amount is less than the RSF, no refund will be issued even though you have returned the item. 

• Shopee reserves the right to deduct the RSF from the refund amount upon your agreement to the final refund amount stated while arranging the return shipment. 
  
  

3. How do I identify if I need to pay for the return shipping fee for an order and the amount? 

After your return request is approved, you will be prompted to select a return shipping method. The return shipping fee will be reflected under the return shipping options based on your return quota. 

Within the return quota 

You will see the return shipping fee as “free” under the return shipping options.

You will see the return shipping fee according to the shipping fee rate card shown above under each return shipping option.

You may click on “View Details” to learn more about the refund amount breakdown based on the return shipping option selected.

To proceed with the return, click on “Confirm”. Please note by clicking “Confirm”, you agree to pay the RSF which will be deducted from the final return amount (if any).
