Hi, how can we help?

Implementation of Consumer Protection (Electronic Trade Transaction) Regulations 2024 (CPETTR 2024)

📢 Announcement

  • The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDN) introduced the CPETTR 2024

  • CPETTR 2024 is a set of regulations that govern online marketplace suppliers (inc. food delivery platforms) and operators (inc. Restaurant Partners), ensuring consumer protection in the digital realm.

In line with CPETTR 2024, merchants are required to:

  1. Disclose Store's Information: Accurately disclose the restaurant’s name, website address (if any), email address, telephone number, and business address on the online marketplace.

  2. Use National Language (Bahasa Malaysia): All store information, product titles and descriptions shall be provided in Bahasa Malaysia (excluding brand names). Additional translations in other languages may be included.

  3. Provide Valid Restaurant Certifications: Provide the correct JAKIM Halal certificate if your restaurant is Halal certified, or Alcohol Beverage License if your restaurant is selling alcoholic drinks to the Platform for records safekeeping. You should always update your certificates or license every time it is renewed.

What should merchants do?

1. Disclose Store's Information:

Merchants are advised to update their store’s latest information in compliance with CPETTR 2024.
