a. Direct activation steps:
You can activate your eSIM directly from the Order Details page in the app.
Step 1: Tap Activate eSIM Now on your Order Details page.
Step 2: A reminder prompt will appear with your validity period and activation rules. Review the information, then tap Confirm.
Step 3: Your device will automatically detect the activation request. When prompted to activate a new eSIM, tap Allow.
Step 4: You will then be taken to your phone’s cellular setup screen. Tap Continue to begin the installation.
Step 5: Once the Setup Complete screen appears, tap Done.
Step 6: Return to your Order Details page in the app. A confirmation pop-up will appear; tap Confirm to complete the activation.
b. QR Code steps:
You can activate your eSIM by scanning the QR code from your Order Details page.
Step 1: Go to the Order Details page in the app and tap the QR Code icon next to the main activation button.
Step 2: Display the QR code on another device, such as a laptop or tablet, or print it out so you can scan it with your phone.
Step 3: Open your phone’s Settings and go to the mobile network, cellular, or SIM management section, then tap Add eSIM.
Step 4: On the setup screen, tap Use QR Code.
Step 5: Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code. When prompted, tap Continue to download the eSIM profile.
Step 6: Once the Setup Complete screen appears, tap Done.
Step 7: Return to your Order Details page in the app. A confirmation pop-up will appear; tap Confirm to complete the activation.
c. Manual activation steps:
You can activate your eSIM manually by entering the activation details from your Order Details page into your phone’s eSIM setup screen.
Step 1: Go to the Order Details page in the app, tap the QR Code icon, then select the Manual tab.
Step 2: Copy the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code using the provided Copy buttons.
Step 3: Open your phone’s Settings and go to the mobile network, cellular, or SIM management section, then tap Add eSIM.
Step 4: Tap Use QR Code, then select Enter Details Manually at the bottom of the screen.
Step 5: Paste the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code into the corresponding fields, then tap Next or Continue.
Step 6: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup, then tap Done when installation is complete.
Step 7: Return to the app and tap Confirm on the Activated pop-up to finish the process.
2. What if I can't find the QR code in my email?
You can view your e-SIM details directly in the "My Orders" section of the Shopee and ShopeePay app once the status is updated to 'Completed.'
3. Does "1 Day" mean 24 hours or a calendar day?
Usage is calculated on a 24-hour basis from the moment of activation. If you activate at 3:00 PM on Monday, your first "day" ends at 2:59 PM on Tuesday.
4. Is my eSIM ready to use immediately after installation?
Yes. You can install and use your eSIM shortly after purchase if you are already in a supported destination or country. The validity period starts from the time of activation.
5. Should I activate my eSIM before I leave or when I arrive?
We recommend waiting until you are at the airport or have reached your destination to ensure you get the full value of your data plan.
6. I see two buttons: "Activate eSIM Now" and "QR Code." Which one should I click?
You can click either one. Both buttons lead to the same secure activation page. This way, you can quickly access your setup instructions and your unique QR code in one convenient place.
