How to Create a Strong Password and Wallet PIN

Choosing a strong password or wallet PIN can be challenging. The best ones are easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess. Follow these recommendations to enhance your account security:

1. Meet Password Requirements

  • Minimum 8 characters – The longer, the better.

  • Mix of uppercase and lowercase letters – A combination of different characters makes your password more secure.

2. Strengthen Your Password and Wallet PIN

  • Use a unique password or wallet PIN – Avoid using the same password for multiple accounts, especially for email and payment-related platforms.

  • Avoid personal information – Do not use phone numbers, birthdays, or anniversaries.

  • Do not use common patterns – Refrain from using repeated numbers or predictable sequences such as "abcd", "0000", "qwerty", or "147852".

Shopee Will Never Ask for Your Password or Wallet PIN

  • Shopee will never request your password or wallet PIN via phone calls, messaging apps, emails, or Shopee chat.

  • Shopee will never ask you to download third-party software or log in to any website outside https://shopee.com.my. Always verify that you are logging in through the official Shopee website.

What to Do If You Suspect Your Account Has Been Compromised

If you notice suspicious activity on your account, take the following steps immediately:

  1. If you cannot log in or perform sensitive actions (e.g., withdrawing funds, making purchases), contact Shopee Customer Service using the channels at the bottom of this page. Shopee may have temporarily restricted your account for security reasons.

  2. If you have shared your password or wallet PIN with someone, reset it immediately. If you are unable to log in, contact Shopee Customer Service for assistance.

  3. If you have forgotten your password, tap "Forgot Password" on the login page and follow the instructions to reset it.

  4. If you have forgotten your wallet PIN, tap "Reset Seller Balance PIN" or "Reset ShopeePay PIN", then follow the on-screen steps to create a new PIN.
