⚙️ Account Type, Payment & Tax Information

 

  1. How long does it take to approve my Payment & Tax Info submission?

    • On average, it takes about 7-14 working days for your submission to be approved.

 

  1. Can I edit my Payment Information, and what happens if I do?

    • Yes, you can edit your payment information. However, payouts will only be processed using the most recently approved banking details. If you update your bank information before the payout date but the changes are still pending approval by Finance, your payout will still be credited to your previously approved bank account.

 

  1. Can I edit my Tax Information, and what happens if I do?

    • If the affiliates update their Tax Information, the IC / passport will not be available to use for payment until Finance approves the update. Any details in the Tax Information section are required for Finance to process payments. Since bills are issued on the 8th and 23rd of each month, any changes will only apply to the next billing cycle after approval.

 

  1. Is it mandatory to sign up for the e-invoice service?

    • Yes, it is mandatory. If affiliates fail to provide the required information and documents, Shopee reserves the right to take further action, which may affect the use of your affiliate account.

 

  1. What should I do if I do not have a TIN?

    • You can register on the MyTax Portal to obtain your TIN number.

 

  1. Where can I find my TIN number in the MyTax Portal?

    • After logging in, you can find your TIN number on the main page of MyTax Portal. It is located in the top right corner, where their details, such as full name, TIN number and LHDN location, are displayed. Make sure TIN format is correct with prefix.

 

  1. What happens to the commission if I never submit my Payment and Tax Information?

    • Affiliates’ commission will be forfeited if Payment & Tax information and invoices are not submitted within one year after the bill is released

 

  1. How can I verify a successful payment and find the reference ID?

    • Once the payment is released, you will receive Reference ID in your Affiliate Dashboard. This Reference ID matches the transaction ID shown in your bank statement, usually next to the description "A AIR PAY MY SDN BHD".

    • Payments are credited via IBG transfer. If credited on a Friday, the exact time it reflects in your bank account may vary depending on your bank's processing schedule – typically within 1–3 working days.

 

  1. Am I allowed to change the account type from Local Enterprise to Local Individual?

    • Yes, this change is allowed. To update the account type, go to the Payment & Tax Information page. You can access it via the affiliate dashboard by clicking on the top-right menu and selecting ‘Payment Setting’.

 

💰 Commission Payout & Timeline

 

  1. When will I receive my affiliate commission?

    • The timeline to receive affiliate commission is approximately 1.5 to 2 months from the date the order is received by the buyer.

 

  1. When will affiliates get their commission payout?

    • Payout will always be on Friday, or sometimes Monday if the previous processing week had public holidays. 

      • If your earnings fall within:
        • 1st – 15th of the month ->

💰 Payment will be made in Week 2 or Week 3 of the following month.

        • 16th – 30th/31st of the month ->

💰 Payment will be made in Week 4 of the following month or Week 1 of the next month after that.

 

  1. Why Haven’t I Received My Commission?

    • You may not receive commission in the following scenarios:

      1. The order was placed by yourself or by a friend or family member living in the same household.

      2. Your affiliate link was used to promote your own store’s products (conflict of interest).

      3. The orders were canceled or refunded.

      4. The buyer clicked on another affiliate link before making the purchase.

      5. You have not submitted your Payment & Tax Information on the Affiliate Admin portal.

      6. Your Payment & Tax Information is still pending validation.

      7. Your commission has remained unvalidated for more than 12 months

      8. You have not submitted your invoices as Local Enterprise Affiliate.

      9. Your invoices are rejected by Shopee.

 

  1. Why might my commission be forfeited?

    • Affiliates’ commissions must be validated within 12 months from the date the bill is released. If Payment & Tax Information and invoices are not submitted within one year, the commission will be forfeited and cannot be reversed. 

 

  1. What happens to my commission after my account is banned?

    • You will receive your commission payout for the period between your registration date and the date your account is banned. However, any commissions earned during this period will not be paid if they are flagged for fraud.

 

🧾 Affiliates Service Fee

 

  1. Where can I find detailed information about Affiliate Service Fee policy?

 

  1. When will the service fee take effect?

    • The service fee will take effect for orders completed during the Commission Completion Period: May 16, 2025 - May 31, 2025. Should you be eligible to receive commission fees during this period, you will see the service fee reflected starting 8 June 2025 in the June 01, 2025 - June 15, 2025 bill.

 

  1. Who will be charged for this service fee?

  • The  service fee applies to all Affiliates registered under the Shopee Affiliate Program. Commissions generated through YouTube Shopping are exempted.

 

  1. How is the 1% service fee calculated?

    • The service fee is charged at a rate of 1% on each payment bill generated from the Shopee Affiliate Program. This service fee excludes Sales and Services Tax (SST), and does not include any Withholding Tax (if any), in accordance with current regulations.For more information about the Shopee Affiliate Program, affiliates may refer here.

 

  1. Is there a minimum threshold for the fee?

    • No, the 1% service fee applies to total earnings without a minimum threshold.

 

  1. Is this service fee automatically deducted?

    • Yes, the service fee will be automatically deducted by Shopee before income is reflected under ‘My Income’ in the Affiliate Portal.

 

  1. How will this fee impact my net earnings?

    • You may refer to this article for the example calculation.

 

  1. How will the deduction appear in my earnings report?
