Before you initiate a money transfer, please ensure that your recipient has completed a one-time setup in their WeChat app.

For your recipient to receive funds from overseas through a WeChat Pay e-wallet, the recipient must complete a one-time onboarding process via the mini program “跨境汇款 微汇款”. 

⚠️ If the recipient has not completed this process, your overseas transfer will fail.

To help your recipient complete the setup, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Click on “Mini Programs” from the Discover Page

Step 2: Search “Western Union” / “Remittance” / “TenPay” to get into the mini program

Step 3: Click on the displayed result
Step 4: Select “我要收款” (I want to Receive)

Step 5: Select “创建名片，去收款” (Create an account to receive)

Step 6: Tick the T&C box, then select “同意并签署” (Acceptance of T&C) on the pop up window

Step 7: Key in 6-digit PIN

Step 8: Select where to credit receiving fund.  *零钱" refers to WeChat Pay balance 

Step 9: Link your phone number and a verification code will be sent for confirmation

Step 10: Complete user’s profile (Location)

Step 11: Complete user’s profile (Occupation)

Step 12: Profile setup completed and user can start receiving overseas funds

⚠️ Once the steps above have been completed by your recipient, you may initiate the overseas transfer with ShopeePay.
