Preferred Merchants are exclusively selected by ShopeeFood in recognition of their excellent sales and customer service. As a ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant, you will be identified by the "Preferred" overlay tag shown on your store.

Benefits of being a ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant

1. Increased in-app and out-of-app Exposure


ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant would be able to receive additional in-app and out-of-app assets supported by ShopeeFood to boost exposure.


2. New Preferred tag for visibility


All ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant will receive a preferred tag on your store. Buyers

are able to distinguish normal stores from ShopeeFood preferred stores.

How do I qualify for the ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant? Stores have to meet all of the following criteria to be part of ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant.

  1. “Average Daily Orders” refers to the average number of daily completed orders over the last 30 days. Preferred stores need to be established stores with consistent sales every month to gain buyer confidence.
  2. “Store Rating Score” refers to the overall rating given by the buyer. To ensure buyers have the best experience with Preferred stores, stores are encouraged to maintain a healthy overall rating.
  3. “Store Total Review” refers to the number of reviews your store received. Buyers would determine a store’s credibility and reliability based on the reviews given by previous buyers.
  4. “Average Preparation Time” refers to the time it takes from an order being received by the store up till when food is ready or picked up by our delivery partner (if the store did not mark the food as ready) in the last 30 days. We would like to ensure buyers and delivery partners do not wait too long for their food, a shorter wait time leads to a happy customer with more returning buyers and more riders willing to pick up orders from your store.
  5. “Cancelled order due to store” refers to orders that were cancelled due to a store's operational issues (e.g. item out of stock, the store was closed) in the last 30 days. We do not want to disappoint our patrons by canceling their orders. Kindly ensure your store’s menu item is set correctly and ensure to set special operating hours when you intend to close your store during the usual operating hours.
  6. “Orders with complaints caused by the store” refers to orders which have been complained by buyers due to a store’s operational problems (e.g. missing item, wrong item) in the last 30 days. We do not want to disappoint our patrons when the food they receive is not satisfactory. Kindly ensure your store fulfills all of its orders accurately and in a proper manner.
  7. “Daily Pause Duration” refers to the total amount of time a store has been set to “Pause” in a day during its operating hours in the last 30 days. We understand that your store may be busy during peak hours to serve your dine-in customers, however, we do not want to disappoint your online patrons as they would be expecting your store to be open during your operating hours.
  8. “Store Item Picture Rate” refers to the % of your active dishes that have images in order to provide a better browsing experience for your customers. Items that have pictures illustrated tend to be more favorable to buyers.

What is the process to get onboard as a ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant?



The store’s performance criteria will be reviewed on the 25th of every month. Stores that meet all the criteria will be notified via email and push notification and will later receive a Preferred tag on the 1st of the next month.


All stores will also receive a weekly performance email every Monday to benchmark their store’s current performance against ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant criteria. Stores are required to always maintain a high and consistent performance to ensure their Preferred Merchant status can be maintained or qualified the following month. Preferred Merchant stores that fail to maintain Preferred Merchant requirements will risk losing their ShopeeFood Preferred tag on the 1st working day of the next month.


How do I be a part of ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant?

You do not need to register to participate in ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant. Your store will be evaluated against the Preferred Merchant criteria every month. You are advised to always monitor your store performance closely and proactively find ways to improve it to meet all the necessary requirements to become a Preferred merchant.


I have met all the requirements to be a ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant, when can I get my Preferred tag?

The store’s performance metric will be reviewed on the 25th of every month, and qualified stores will receive their preferred merchant tag on the 1st of the next month.


Is it possible to lose ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant status?

To maintain the high standards of ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant, your performance targets continue to be monitored even after you have been eligible for the Preferred Merchant. If a store’s performance falls below one of these benchmarks, your Preferred Merchant status will be removed. All store’s performance will be reviewed every month. If a Preferred Merchant store’s performance fails to meet all Preferred Merchant requirements, it will lose its Preferred status in the subsequent month.


How can I track my ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant performance metric?

A weekly email of your store’s performance will be sent to you to track your store’s performance.


Will there be any additional charges for ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant?

No, there will not be any additional charges for Preferred Merchant.


My store has multiple branches, if 1 branch meets all requirements to be a ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant does that mean all of my stores will be a Preferred Merchant?

No. Preferred Merchant will be based on a single-store level. Each store has to meet all of the above performance criteria to be onboarded as a ShopeeFood Preferred Merchant. Example:

Brand: Salad House

Store: Salad House - Mid Valley, Salad House - Sunway Pyramid, Salad House - Mont Kiara and etc.



Only Salad House- Mid Valley’s store meets all requirements to be a Preferred Merchant, hence only that particular store (Salad House - Mid Valley) will be awarded a Preferred tag.
