In recent times, the convenience of food delivery services has become a staple in many people's lives. However, with it comes the unfortunate reality of certain individuals looking to take advantage of unsuspecting businesses by posing as delivery riders to steal food orders from stores. This deceitful act not only results in financial loss to the business but also damages its reputation.
Lately we noticed that there are lots of news regarding order stealing that is happening around throughout social media. Therefore below are some of the effective suggestions to prevent order stealing from happening at your restaurants:
Before handing food to a rider, ask for the rider's name and make sure the name matches from your Shopee Partner app. You can also refer to the following attachment to get the driver's name from your Shopee Partner app.
Confirm the order number with the rider before handing over the food order to the rider. The order number can be found from the screenshot below.

- Ensure the driver clicks “Confirm Pickup” upon collecting the order
Once the rider arrives at the store, ask the riders to present their phone with the Shopee Driver app and verify the order details. Require riders to physically click the "Confirm Pickup" button on the device to confirm pickup. This is to avoid unnecessary order cancellations and double order preparation.
- Ensure The Food Placement Area is Visible to You
Once the food is prepared, place it within sight of the restaurant staff (eg. designated pick-up counters or pick-up windows) for easy checking and order confirmation with the rider, thereby reducing the risk of stealing.
- Protect Your Order Number
Always be cautious of the order number displayed on the device as there is a chance that a customer may see the order number and attempt to collect the food without proper verification.
