[Overseas Transfer] Sending Funds - Receive Method by Cash Pickup

1. How to send money overseas with Overseas Transfer via the Cash Pickup Method on ShopeePay? 

Please see below for the step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Click ShopeePay
Step 2: Click Transfer 
Step 3: Click Overseas Transfer
Step 4: Click Send Money 
Step 5: Choose receiving country and currency, then select receive method for your recipient 
Step 6: Enter the Send amount either in MYR or receiving currency equivalent 
Step 7: Acknowledge to Anti-fraud warning 
Step 8: Add a new recipient by inputting recipient info, or select a recipient from your past transaction
Step 9: Acknowledge to the Terms & Conditions by ticking the checkbox
    
2. What information must the Sender provide to the beneficiary for cash pickup? 

  • 10-digit MTCN
  • Amount to receive
  • Sender’s full name as per identity card (Spacing, sequence and the spelling must be the same as the information keyed in by the Sender)
  • Country of origin
    
3. Where can my beneficiary collect cash? 

Your beneficiary can collect cash from any Western Union agent in the world besides Malaysia. Your beneficiary must be prepared to provide his/her valid Identity Card upon collection of cash. 
    
4. How can my beneficiary collect cash at a Western Union agent? 

Your beneficiary must fill up the Receive form with the following information at the Western Union agent to collect cash: 

  •  10-digit MTCN
  • Amount to receive
  • Sender’s full name as per identity card (Spacing, sequence and the spelling must be the same as the information keyed in by the Sender)
  • Country of origin
  • Provide original Identity Card

6. What are the Western Union operating hours for collection? 

Each Western Union agent location determines its hours of operation, and most maintain extended hours or even stay open around the clock. 
    
7. What can I do if my beneficiary’s cash-out has been rejected by a Western Union agent? 

You (sender) are required to call Western Union toll toll-free helpline at 1800-81-3399 or reach out to ShopeePay Customer Service via chat or call to check for further details. 
    
8. Will I receive an SMS notification once my beneficiary has successfully collected the cash from any Western Union agent? 

Yes, you will receive an SMS notification from Western Union. You will also receive a push notification via the Shopee app when the cash money has been picked up by your beneficiary.
