[Overseas Transfer] Receiving Funds - Receive Method via MTCN into ShopeePay E-Wallet

1. If I am the recipient of an Overseas Transfer from another country (other than Malaysia), how will the money be credited to my ShopeePay e-wallet?
Money will be credited into your ShopeePay e-wallet immediately by following the steps below:
Step 1: Log in to the Shopee App and click ShopeePay
Step 2: Click Overseas Transfer
Step 3: Click Receive Money
Step 3: Click Receive Money
Step 4: Fill in the following Requested Info:
- Western Union MTCN
- Amount to receive
- Relationship with Sender
- Purpose of transfer
Step 5: Then click Next
Step 6: Acknowledge to the Terms & Conditions by ticking the checkbox and click Next
⚠️ Note:
- If you are a new Overseas Transfer user, you are required to input additional personal info as a one-time registration,
2. If I am the recipient of a Western Union transfer from another country (other than Malaysia), wIll I incur any additional costs by choosing to receive into my ShopeePay e-wallet?
You will receive the amount as stated under Amount to receive on the Western Union MTCN receipt in MYR equivalent, all Western Union transaction costs are borne by your sender.
3. What can I do with the money once it is credited into my ShopeePay e-wallet?
The received amount will be credited to your ShopeePay e-wallet via the method above. You may then spend the amount received at:
- Any retail outlets which accept DuitNow QR by using ShopeePay to check out
- Shopee marketplace by using ShopeePay to checkout
4. What can I do if the money transfer has been rejected via the Receive method above?
You may contact the ShopeePay helpline for issues relating to Overseas Transfer via chat or call and our Customer Support agent will reach out to you shortly. You may also call Western Union toll free helpline at 1800-81-3399 if you face any issues relating to this matter.
