The Shopee x Remobie Trade-In Program is a collaboration between Shopee and Remobie Technologies Sdn. Bhd. (“Remobie”). Under the Shopee Trade-In Program, Remobie provides a service through which Shopee’s customers (“Buyers”) may trade-in eligible used electronic devices (“Used Device”) to purchase eligible new products on Shopee (“New Items”) at a discounted price, based on the estimated value of the Used Device (“Trade-In Discount”). By trading-in a Used Device when purchasing a New Item through the Shopee x Remobie Trade-In Program (“Trade-In Transaction”) you are deemed to have agreed to the terms and conditions described herein.
These Terms and Conditions supplement Shopee Terms of Service, and other Shopee policies of which these Terms and Conditions forms a part (hereinafter referred to as “Shopee Policies”) – please read the Terms of Service, and the other Shopee Policies available on the Site as they contain important information regarding your rights and obligations. Any terms that are used in these Terms and Conditions that are not defined here will have the meanings given to such terms in the Terms of Service and/or the applicable Shopee Policy. All terms and conditions described in these Terms and Conditions are subject to change at Shopee’s discretion pursuant to the Terms of Service.
By making a Trade-In Transaction, you understand and agree that:
1. This trade-in service is offered and provided by Remobie;
2. Shopee shall have the discretion to determine the eligibility of the Buyers or Used Device for Trade-In Discount and/or Trade-in Transaction, the specific criteria of which may be communicated to Buyers from time to time.
3. Remobie is the party purchasing your Used Device as part of the Trade-In Transaction, while Shopee is responsible for facilitating your purchase of the New Item on its platform. Remobie and Shopee’s duties and responsibilities under Shopee x Remobie Trade-In Program are separate and distinct and neither party shall be jointly or severally liable for the other party’s failure or omission in respect of any parties’ specific obligation under this program terms.
4. You are not a commercial reseller and you are the legal owner of the Used Device you wish to trade-in and there are no leases, contractual commitments, or other third-party interests attached to your Used Device. You further acknowledge and represent that the Used Device was legitimately procured or obtained, is compliant with all relevant guidelines and regulations, and was not otherwise procured or obtained through any illegal or unlawful means. If the Used Device is found to be subject to any such encumbrances, third-party interests, or illegitimate procurement, You agree to immediately cancel the Trade-In Transaction and refund the full payment for the goods to Remobie without dispute.
5. The Trade-In Discount is an estimated pricing for your Used Device based on the quality and condition of the Used Device as submitted by you, is subject to change upon inspection by Remobie and may not reflect the final Trade-In Discount offered. Remobie reserves the right to revise the Trade-In Discount offer after conducting an on-site inspection of your Used Device at the time of collection. Shopee or Remobie reserves the right to decline, cancel or limit the quantity of any Trade-In Transaction of any Used Device at its sole discretion, for any reason it deems appropriate. You acknowledge and agree that all Trade-In Transactions are final and cannot be cancelled by you unless the quoted value for the Used Device upon completion of inspection has been revised and declined by you;
6. If the quoted Trade-In Discount changes, you will be notified and may accept or decline the revised price. If you accept a lower revised price, you will be required to top-up the difference (i.e. the amount difference between the final trade-in value and the Trade-In Discount) payable to Remobie. If you decline the revised price, the Trade-In Transaction will be cancelled. You are responsible for backing up, deleting all personal data and sensitive personal data from your Used Device, including any third party personal data contained in your Used Device via factory reset, prior to handing over your Used Device. Neither Remobie nor Shopee will be held liable for any loss of your data, unintended disclosure of such data or other undeleted data on the Used Device.Once the Trade-In Transaction is completed (i.e., the Used Device is collected and New Item is handed over to you), ownership of your Used Device transfers to Remobie, and you assign to Shopee the right to collect from Remobie the value of the Trade-In Discount corresponding to your Used Device. Remobie reserves the right not to return the Used Device for any reason. You further acknowledge and agree that you will waive all claim or demand for the return of the Used Device to you, including any claim or demand for a reimbursement of the Used Device’s value, once the Trade-in Transaction is completed.
7. A Trade-In Transaction will be cancelled if no trade-in is completed;
8. In the event a Trade-In Transaction has been approved for a return and refund after the Used Device has been collected by Remobie, Buyer will receive from Shopee a refunded amount equivalent to the actual amount paid for the New Item and the value of the Trade-In Discount. Under no circumstances will the Used Device be returned to the Buyer;
9. New Items purchased under the Trade-In Program are not returnable using “I want to return the item in original/sealed condition” returns.
10. Any overtrade promotions disbursed by Shopee or Remobie is subject to promotion redemption limits. Shopee, Remobie and any third party partner reserves the right to amend or end the promotion with no prior notice.
11. Any overtrade bonus or discount related to trade-in will not be reimbursed if an order is cancelled;
12. An overtrade bonus is only applied if the Used Device has a positive value;
13. If the value of the Used Device is greater than the value of the New Item, the excess amount will be forfeited;
14. Remobie will contact you via Call/SMS to schedule the pick-up. If there is no response after three (3) attempts, Shopee will proceed to cancel the Trade-In Transaction;
15. You must schedule the first trade-in delivery attempt within 7 days from first contact by Remobie, unless indicated otherwise by Shopee & Remobie;
16. Used Devices will be rejected if they do not meet Remobie’s required conditions (refer to FAQ for more details), upon which the Trade-In Transaction will be cancelled;
17. Remobie will request for proof of identification during the trade-in and Remobie reserves the right to reject any Used Device if your identity does not match the identification information presented at the time of collection.You consent to Remobie using or disclosing your personal information such as your first name, last name, age, national identification number and contact details, as well as information related to your Used Device (e.g., model name, color, IMEI and basic condition of the Used Device) (“Personal Data”) for the purposes of carrying out the Trade-In Transaction. You further agree that your Personal Data may be retained as long as it is necessary to fulfil this purpose.The personal information you have provided is accurate. You understand and agree that you are responsible for any issues or damages resulting from incorrect or false information provided by you.If you choose not to provide or withdraw your consent for the use of your Personal Data, you understand that Remobie may not be able to process your Trade-In Transaction or fulfil related obligations.You may withdraw your consent to the use of your Personal Data at any time by notifying Remobie via email at support.my@remobie.com.
18. Your personal information shared with Shopee shall be processed in accordance with the prevailing Privacy Policy.
