[Product Protection] Electronic Protection Service Program FAQ

1) What is Electronic Protection Service Program?

Electronic Protection Service Program provides protection for electronics from accidental physical and liquid damage for 12 months.

 

2) How much is the price of the Electronic Protection Service Program for my eligible electronic device?

The price of the Electronic Protection Service Program varies depending on the purchase price of eligible electronic device on the Shopee platform. You may view the price at the checkout page when an eligible electronic device is being purchased.

 

3) What does this protection cover?

This protection only covers new electronic devices purchased from Shopee’s platform and is not available for accessories such as external cables, keyboards, hard drives, chargers, etc.

  • One-time repairs or replacements at authorized repair centres only.
  • Two-way transportation costs are covered, including reverse courier service when necessary.
  • No deductibles are applicable.

 

4) What does this protection not cover?

Please refer to the “General Exclusions” section in Terms & Conditions for more information.

 

5) Will the warranty be affected?

The original manufacturer’s, supplier’s or seller’s warranty (if any) will not be affected by any repairs to the electronic device with this protection.

 

6) Is there a time limit for filing for a claim?

Yes, claims need to be submitted no later than fourteen (14) working days from the date of the incident causing the accidental damage to the eligible electronic device.

 

7) My policy was bought before 8th June 2023, how do I submit a claim on my policy? 
For purchases before 8th June 2023, you may submit your claim via the claim portal through the link shared with you by the Insurer via email and/or WhatsApp when your protection was activated. Feel free to reach out to claims@policystreet.com if you need any clarity on step-by-step to claim.

 

8) How do I purchase Electronic Protection Service Program as part of my order?

The purchase of Electronic Protection Service Program may be pre-selected when you purchase an electronic device which is eligible for the service. In such cases, if you wish to opt-out of the purchase of the service, simply untick the relevant checkbox before placing your order at the checkout page.  

 

9) How can I deselect Electronic Protection Service Program at checkout?

At checkout page, users can untick the relevant checkbox to remove Electronic Protection Service Program from cart.

10) How do I submit a claim for Electronic Protection Service Program?

Step 1: Visit PolicyStreet’s digital claims portal here: https://shopee-claims.policystreet.com/ 

Step 2: Log in with your registered mobile number and key in the One - Time Password (OTP).

Step 3: If this is your time purchasing Product Protection provided by PolicyStreet, you will be required to input your personal details.

Step 4: Select the item(s) you wish to claim for.

Step 5: Select the type of claim(s) to be made.

Step 6: Input the required details in the claim:

- Date of loss

- Existing/Original warranty information

- Description of loss

- Photograph of the damage

- Other supporting documents, as relevant

Step 7: The Service Provider will arrange for a repairer to contact you via our registered mobile phone number.

Step 8: The repairer will collect the item from you via one of the either methods, depending on the item:

- To bring item to repair centre

- To arrange for concierge service to pick up item

- To provide arrange for onsite checks for bulky items

Step 9: The repairer would assess if the damage to the item is eligible for claim under the Electronic Protection Service Program.

Step 10: PolicyStreet will notify you via the claims portal if the damaged item is eligible for a claimable repair, and the repairer will proceed with the repair services. 

Step 11: Please bring your national identification card registered on the PolicyStreet claim portal for ease of claims.

Submission/ Notification of claim

No later than fourteen (14) days after the occurrence of the loss or damage. 

Authorised repair network to contact for item pickup onsite repair for inspection

No later than two (2) working days after submission of claims.

Claim approval

No later than five (5) days after the product has been received for inspection by the authorised repair network. 

Completion of repair

Standard repairs will take up to four (4) working days. Please note that this is subject to the availability of parts & extent of repair.
