[Product Protection] Extended Protection Service Program FAQ

1) What is Extended Protection Service Program?

Extended Protection Service Program provides benefits which include the following: 
  • Access to a repairer network nationwide,
  • Logistics (pickup and delivery)
  • Education hub
  • Free in-store inspection
  • Extended Warranty
  • Digital claims service

 

2) How long is the Extended Protection Service Program Service Period?
The Extended Protection Service Program Service Period is for twelve (12) months after the expiry of the original warranty or from the date of delivery of the eligible electronic device (i.e., confirmation of delivery of order on the Shopee platform). For further details on how Extended Protection Service Program works, please refer to the “How to Claim” tab. 

 

3) How does Extended Protection Service Program work?
Extended Protection Service Program can be purchased as an extension of original warranty or starting from after buyer confirms receipt of the good, for products without existing warranty.

4) What does this protection cover?

  • This protection only covers new and used electronic devices purchased from Shopee and is not available for accessories such as cables, keyboards, hard drives, chargers, etc.
  • Your electronic will be eligible for either repair service or cash compensation depending on the product price:

Note 1: equivalent to 100% of purchase price

Note 2: equivalent to 50% of purchase price

 

  • Two-way transportation cost is covered for repairs or replacements cost is covered, including reverse courier service when necessary
  • No deductibles are applicable

 

5) What does this protection not cover?

Please refer to “General Exclusions” in Terms & Conditions for more information.

 

6) Is there a time limit for filing for a claim?

Yes, claims need to be submitted no later than fourteen (14) from the date of the occurrence of electronic or mechanical breakdown of the eligible electronic device.

 

7) My policy was bought before 8th June 2023, how do I submit a claim on my policy? 
For purchases before 8th June 2023, you may submit your claim via the claim portal through the link shared with you by the Insurer via email and/or WhatsApp when your protection was activated. Feel free to reach out to claims@policystreet.com if you need any clarity on step-by-step to claim.

 

8) How do I purchase Extended Protection Service Program as part of my order?
The purchase of Extended Protection Service Program may be pre-selected when you purchase an electronic device which is eligible for the service. In such cases, if you wish to opt-out of the purchase of the service, simply untick the relevant checkbox before placing your order at the checkout page. 

 

9) How can I deselect Extended Protection Service Program at checkout?  
At checkout page, users can untick the relevant checkbox to remove Extended Protection Service Program from cart.

 

10) Can I get Extended Protection Service Program for any electronic/electrical item on Shopee?
No, only specific electronic categories can be covered by Extended Protection Service Program. While some listings may include it, certain items are excluded, and PolicyStreet reserves the right to cancel policies per the outlined Terms and Conditions.
