DuitNow Transfer FAQ

1. What is DuitNow Transfer?

  1. DuitNow Transfer is a feature that allows you to transfer and receive funds in real time from other Malaysian internet banking platforms or participating eWallets.The fund transfer can be done by entering the recipient’s DuitNow ID or scanning a DuitNow QR.

2. How many DuitNow IDs can I have?

  1. One Unique Proxy can only be used for One DuitNow ID. Eg: You can register your phone number as DuitNow ID with ShopeePay but you can also register your NRIC number as DuitNow ID with Maybank.
  2. However, please note that ShopeePay only allows phone number registration.

3. How can I receive funds via DuitNow Transfer into my ShopeePay account?

  1. There are two methods to receive, either A) Via DuitNow ID or B) Via DuitNow QR.
  2. A) DuitNow ID : You will need to do a one time registration by linking your phone number as your DuitNow ID on ShopeePay. You can refer below for a guide on how to register your DuitNow ID.

5. Do I have to pay for using DuitNow Transfer?

  1. For customers, there are no charges for any DuitNow Transfer transactions.

6. Who can use DuitNow Transfer?

  1. To use DuitNow Transfer, users will need to upgrade their ShopeePay account to ‘Premium’ by verifying their IC. You may refer to the guide here.

7. How long does it take for the payment to go through?

  1. The payment will go through instantly once the transaction is successful.

8. Is there a limit set on the number of transactions that I can perform for DuitNow Transfer?

  1. There is no limit on the number of DuitNow Transfer transactions. However, the transaction amount will be limited based on your ShopeePay wallet daily, monthly and annual transaction limits. You may refer to your wallet transaction limit here.
  2. Payment can also be declined due to the following reasons:
  3. Insufficient balance in your ShopeePay wallet; or
  4. Poor internet connectivity; 

9. If I change my phone number, what happens to my DuitNow ID?

  1. Changing phone number will require you to register your new phone number as DuitNow ID again. ShopeePay would require you to update the existing phone number registered with ShopeePay before allowing you to register the new phone number as DuitNow ID.

10. How can I deregister my DuitNow ID?

  1. You can deregister your DuitNow ID by following the steps below


   


11. Can a foreigner use DuitNow Transfer?

  1. Anyone who has completed their user verification can use the DuitNow Transfer. However, a Malaysian phone number will be required to apply for DuitNow ID to receive money to ShopeePay wallet.
